Survey shows that private hospital is cheaper than Gov Hospital. Unless you are under heavy sub in the lowest C ward.Originally posted by euphratis:News: "a father left huge amount of unpaid credit card bill to son"...
That's life. They don't care. Since when hospital care except to earn your last $$$ before you die. If they care they should not restrict Sporean on which ward they can or cannot stay base on their children income.
Come-on, their children might have family burden & in-laws to take care. Life already tuff. If I am old I wish to live healthy & die in my sleep then to burden my family....![]()
wait a minute... why didn't your friend settle the bill when his father passed on in 2002? i mean... its kinda the norm to take care of these sort of things either on the spot or really soon after that...Originally posted by ShutterBug:Here's a scenario, which a friend of mine happens to be in:
His father passed away in 2002 from heart failure, and because my friend admitted his father into a private hospital, the hospital is now after him for outstanding bills incurred over a period of 3 years.
His father also did not manage to make out a Will, and hence, his estates and whatever monies, are inaccessible until proper legal procedures to obtain administrator grant is completed.
Meanwhile, the hospital hounds hime for FULL PAYMENT, IMMEDIATELY - to an amount of almost 10K!
What do you guys think? Shouldn't hospitals look into the financial ability of the person who admits a patient besides just being the next of kin? Does it look like a trap?
