Is there hope for our country.If you look at many threads,the conclusion is that we are doomed in the long term.The Straits Times,thought mostly accurate,is indeed a government propaganda piece.
Our SAF is run by a bunch of scholar generals who I am unsure of.Do they know what they are doing?
Our future Prime Minister is the Supreme Commander of the SAF,or so I am to understand,Brigadier General Lee.
To put things straight,we are a constitutional monarchy in all but name.What has happened to many of the old values?They had their worth but have been discarded.
Singapore is facing a crisis of identity,of society.We have a massive influx of migrants.Our identity is under stress.We are at an important stage in our country's future,determining our future.
Our govt is a bureaucracy of mandarins.Will we have to wait until Old Man Lee aka Senile Minister Lee aka Senior Minister Lee Kuan Yew the esteemed ruler of our country dies?Will we have to wait that long for change.
I have some hope for Singapore.But in the darkness that clouds the world,my hope rises and falls like the tide.I worry about my homeland,of jungle and concrete,of monsoons and cloudy skies,of stinking heat and humid air.my HOMELAND.
With all its imperfections,Singapore is a human construct.Against all odds it has made it for 30 over years,with many factors in our favour.With the rise of the giants,what are we to do?
I don't know the answer,and our faulty government doesn't know either.Yes,our government is human too.They have made screw ups.Why not come out and admit it.The public will forgive them,or are they scared for their honour,of face?
What will it take to stir up Singapore's spirit?Do we have the fighting mettle it takes to survive the coming challenges?Through sacrifice,blood and tears the men of SIngapore have defended the country,have raised families as best as they can along with their women.
We are all sworn defenders of this home of ours.What will we do for it?Will we accept it with is imperfections and embrace it,try to make it better?Will we die for it,our home and our lovers,families,friends and comrades?

(I will fight and die to defend my comrades,family,friends,loved ones and my homeland.I will not fight to keep the current government in power.They have a good track record but I feel that change is only possible one SM Lee passes away.Give me SM Goh Chok Tong!)

SM Lee is not entirely senile.I believe his contributions to Singapore is greatly appreciated by Singaporeans. His foresight has led us to be a leading country in terms of industry and economy.
But now things have changed, the rise of India and China and regional competitions has led to necessary reforms in the government. The SIA pilots issue has been taken care of by SM Lee, and it has been solved,which proves til now he is still a able SM.
Mr Goh as his sucessor proved to be as sucessful as him. They have served the country for about 3 centuries.
the next step for our country is : is Mr(small)Lee as able. Or is he another George(small)Bush, who is disillusioned by war.
