I think the early 90s were pretty good - could have been considered a gold-plated age of Singaopre maybe?

The 'Golden Age of Singapore' will arrive when Singapore is no longer in the monopolistic grip of One Man, One Son, One Family and One Party. -
And what makes you think the next government after this would be better in anyway?

I suppose almost any government which is actually elected and run by the people instead of an elite class of individuals who have absolutely no reason to be there, merit wise (apparent meritoracy here also includes having friends in high places as a "merit"). would end up quite a bit better then our lot now.
I often wonder, we are all to often told to "hang on" and work hard for the sucess and survival of Singapore, but to what end and purpose? When most of the pie you churn bake is rapidly looted and you always end up getting the crumbs. In the end, the question that begs is why. -
The solution is reduce the population and max is 1 to replace 2. In 20 years time, we will only have 2 million people, all flats will reduce in prices, cars will be damn cheap, we will have more to go around.
During this 20 years of down sizing, we will have the best resources of our only child and the near perfect Singaporean will be created.
He or she will be the best to operate advance technologies and skillsets.
Our decendents will have the best.
Therefore the PAP should be happy because we will no longer need humans for war or defence. everything will be by technology and machines.
Every Singaporean will be happy and PAP will remain in power because it deliver the goods of big house and big cars. -

And why not go even one step further to recycle the proteins, organs and the flesh of those 'unproductive-hence-fit-for kill' catagory.
Run a trial on the market by turning em into canfood and setting them up for sale on the supermarket shelves instead of of the cemetery so that we can make ourselves real useful when our respective 'expiry date' eventually comes into effect too.

The golden age will come only when we have the freedom to think, act, speak and choose. Only when we have these freedom then creativity will follow. And when creativity is flowing everywhere from business to arts to science then we will have golden age.

golden age of singapore is during the late 80s and 90s until 1997.
i heard garang guni whose business can buy condos and drive big car. makingmoney is easy.
now? seem like all gone. i think because of china. everything become cheap. company struggle to cope. end up we get lower quality stuff. is life getting better ? -
