- China did control Taiwan.
- Because of war, a few countries occupied Taiwan for a long period, including Holland and Japan. Mr Tay fight and took back Taiwan and then Japan occupied but return Taiwan to China after world world.
2 All the countries admited long long ago that Taiwan is part of China. At that time China was weak and not strong

- Forever peaceful

I think America set their base in Japan and taiwan is because.. if one day.. america and china got problem they both might fight and taiwan and japan can help america easily coz they are closer to china, this might be another reason why china want to control taiwan. Ok dont scold me if im wrong.

Taiwan is part of China and this is fact because all the countries have already admited. It is nature that China want to take back.
Also America play the same trick in Korea and stop Korea for unification.
As an Asia people we do not want King or Queen come here to distrub us. We want China & Taiwan, North Korea & South Korea go for peaceful unification.

Yes, but China is controlling Taiwan isn't it ? KMT is from China. Instead of refering to history saying how Taiwan was being controlled by China, which is already out of point. KMT is ruling party for China which control Taiwan. There is a rebellion and KMT had lose so had to retreat to Taiwan. Both should really sit down and settle their differences. From now until 2010, China will not touch Taiwan because of Olympics in 2008 and Shaghai Expo in 2010. China will risk itself because Taiwan military planners will retaliate in both Beijing & Shanghai in return and investors will flee China. The economic lost in China will be greater.
Furthermore, China isn't military up to task against Taiwan military hardware, especially air force. China is feverishly building many naval hardware like hundreds of mini subs which are already in place.
Taiwan maintains sleepers group throughout major cities in China which can be activated in time of crisis to retaliate.
So from now till 2010, everyone can sit tight that no major crisis will happen between both.
I support Taiwn independence like the many younger Taiwanese born citizen today. -
