The term world-class is an abused word.

  It seems that everywhere i read, there is talk about being a world-class this, world-class that.
  
  From transportation to educational centres to research and development, every thing needs to be 'world-class'.
  
  Could someone care to explain what the term really means?
  
  Funny then that some GLC conglomerates claim their company facilities world-class while they purchase 2nd-hand equipment to work with.
  
  It's ironic they try to juggle cost-cutting measures while attempting to stay world-class. The right hand simply cannot grasp the left.
  
  All our leaders have accomplished by repeatedly using this phrase is to add undue stress to our already pressured workforce.

  You forgot to mention 'Income Class' and its corresponding level of subsidize.
  
  Also, the 'Class' of ppl who gets the 'Ok' sign to enter the damn casino if that vice hole really gets the go-ahead to be introduced in SG.
