Americans are shrinking
http://www.littlespeck.com/world/CForeign-tall-040404.htmFlexibility can tie you up in knots
http://www.singapore-window.org/sw04/040322tg.htmok... as i said last night... its time to put the GENTLE back in the Gentlemen's Discussion.two short articles here talking about different stuff... but both generally challenging what some might call "pro-government discourse" ...
the first one is about how height, normally seen as an indication of nutrition and standard of living, is
decreasing among american youths and suggests that the european system of universal healthcare
might have some
merits after all...
the second one is about how "wage-flexibility " and "economic restructuring " basically becomes industrial serfdom if all that is being made flexible are wages.
i choose them cos although they're taking about america and europe, they relate to many of us here in Sg.
any thoughts?
