I would like to recommend a few books which have personally read and feel that it is good in helping us understanding the everchanging political landscape.

The Lexus and the Olive Tree: Tomas Friedman
Statecraft : Margeret Thatcher

i dunno why u're recommending someone who's so obviously been proven wrong... Fukuyama is a pretty bad theorist at any rate...

hmmm... new one? haven't read this one...
but while we're about it, it might be a good idea to get a sense of history so we at least have a bit of context into the things we're talking about sometimes...

interestingly, when i read the olive tree, friedman slammed the end of history.
Well why i focus on such serious read is because they are ultimately more insightful on world affairs that we cannot alter. its very kafkaseque. -
Provided local people have time to read such books haha! After coming home from 12 hour days.

here's a good author: ALan Toffler
he wrote many books praised by political leaders all around the world, as well as new journals and magazines:
1) The Third Wave (personally my favourite- n CX, u can read abt changing social attitudes here)
2) Future SHock
3) Power Shift
they are sold at all major bookstores like Borders and Popular and Kinokuniya.

- dated prose, outdated views, over-flowery personal opinion, VERY heavy reading... it tells u more about enlightening Europe than the Roman empire man...
historians read it for its discourse now, not for its info
Rise and Fall of the Third Reich, William Shirer.
- another dated piece, written by a journalist who lived there... pretty decent, still useful for facts, but needs to be supplemented if u're aiming for more specific details on the 3rd Reich... -
