Please accept Terrorism as a part of lifeÂ…Â…..
I was just listening intently to BBC radio the other day, about the US armyÂ’s prisoner abuse, the faked UK prisoner photos and it dawned on me how complex our world now is.
What also dawned on me that: it is ‘HOPE’ and ‘LOVE’ that are the most conclusive drives of humans.
Animals may be driven by hunger, sex and instinct, but humans will only feel miserable if only driven in thus way.
‘Survival of the fittest’ shouldn’t be main the value by which society is driven/ run, and neither should ‘corruption’ exist. Higher ideals like world peace should be a focus amongst all citizens.
What I feel is that much more effort should be made to eradicate the problem of poverty in this world.
Poverty is often what causes people to feel miserable and loose hope, especially people living in slums in many countries.
Elitism is a direct cause of poverty. Examples of elitist concepts are:
1) Insufficient taxes on luxuries and the rich.
2) Excessive patent rights/ copyright privileges.
3) Political gerrymandering.
4) Excessive military force to achieve quick successes without due consideration for consequences.
Thus: so long as “the necessities of many are taken away to give luxuries to few”, and many remain living in abject poverty, hatred will brew within human civilization with untoward results.
Societal suicide rates IMHO reflect the mental stability of a society> in short reflecting the misery levels of society. (Needs to be corrected to exclude suicide for terrorist related activity)
Thus I beseech governments around the world to deeply explore means to reduce the level of poverty and unemployment and suffering> to achieve a more stable world environment, where people can live together happily.
Singapore has spent >S$8billion/annum on military purposes, and also sees the need to buy 20Arpache helicopters at S$100Million each. Has the arms race been escalated? Do we communicate our interest better with casualties and explosions or would diplomacy work better. How much of S$8billion dollars is spent on diplomacy?
So to help our ailing world:
Give people hope,Â…Â…Â…..and give peace a fighting chance.
