Singapore is too small to survive for the next 1000 years
Singapore's 4 million residents-inbreeding till wiped out
Singapore got to drink shit water soon
Once Indonesia wakes up, we will be swallowed up again, like Tumasek in 14th Century,
Conclusion? we need a bigger backyard. Peaceful re-unification with Malaysia is best.........

first of all, singapore dan malaysia ain't no china and taiwan.
Lao Lee once did mentioned that with the coming of globalisation, one day the malaysia economy might jus grow way ahead of us. by that time, we would be forced to seek merger with them. but this time, we have to di shen xia qi, qiu them to take us in.....i say to hell with him and his idea. i sincerely believe that we, singaporeans would be able to substain growth and grow stronger each day.

would the population of singapore which is mainly chinese, be able to accept that the malays would be given special treatment after a merger? and even if the population can accept that would the govt be able to accept that the lee family would lose power ? and virtually all the important positions they've gained in the past few decades?
to be honest, as a chinese, i cannot accept that a "bumi" would be able to walk into a bank and secure a loan without any hassle just because of his race and he wants to "start a business" -

so wat if indonesia did indeed wake up from the econommic and political slump and gain more military might? We have a operationally ready standing force greater than most countries. and that's wat we have been trained for during NS, during reservist.
have faith in our armed forces. why throw in the white flag without putting up a fight? nothing's for sure. they might not win, we might not lose. i'm not saying we could/should under-estimate our potential aggressors but all i'm asking is to have faith in our own armed forces, to have faith in ourselves.
when Konfrontasi hit us ,we have jus became part of the malaysian federation. sep 24 1963, we were sabotaged by the TNI-AD under the command of then president Soekarno. we were ill-prepared to handle that kind of security situation because we dun have a strong, credible and dependable armed force to count on. and were we protected by the federation security machineries? no. we were left fending for oursleves.
today, the SAF stands tall, being among the best trained and best equipped force in the region. Numerical superiority is a luxury we can ill afford. but we have the the technology and the expertise to count on.

i believe involvement in a war would be the last option available to our poltical masters. May i remind all singaporean males who have served or till serving in the force, that we have taken the oath under the state flag to remain loyal to the president and the republic of singapore. if the day comes for us to don full battle order , to fight a war, we must do so. surrendering without a fight is not an option for us.

As for now, I don't see the need for reunification with Malaysia. Both countries have different agendas.
And to LazerLordz, I really disagree with what u said about China. I have lived in China for a few years and I have to say that there is more personal freedom in China than in S'pore. The locals I met dare to criticise their government so openly that it will make Singapore look like North Korea. I have also on many occasions seen on TV fierce debates between citizens and their local officials. The most ironic thing about Taiwan is that although the current Taiwanese government(DPP) is pushing towards independence and always badmouthing China, there is a growing trend of Taiwanese emigrating to mainland China!!! Well, i can agree with your point.My post about China is more from a philosophical standpoint.On the ground, that may well be the reality but do you really think China's government will really devolve ower to the people.You give them some to satiate their needs and distract them as they aint hungry anymore.Stage two may come when affluence is widespread and economic "bribes" just don't work anymore.Just my two cents worth.
