lolOriginally posted by Xenthar:Hey gaoyue. I also poly grad. Been looking for a job for 4 whole months already! I tell you its a fact. Been to many interviews. They will give poly jobs to a degree holder. Come on. Now that jobs are few, degree holders will also go apply for poly jobs. Better network now while you still can to play safe.
Oh well look on the bright side. If they keep this up, maybe we will end up like Denmark. Degree holder sweep floor in 10 years down the road. Thats better, continue to steal our jobs lor. Continue to spoil the market lor. Next time their MBA sons and daughters can get to sweep floors. Cool rite. All die together.
Not necessary true. Poly jobs are still given to diploma holders but not poly fresh grad. Companies are more into hiring those experienced.Originally posted by Xenthar:Hey gaoyue. I also poly grad. It is not the diploma holders that are affected by the poor economy but degree holders too. The job market is flooded with all sort of people from those with tons of experiences to those fresh out from school. Being in the recruitment business I cannot deny the fact that companies are looking for people that are cheap and good. And these are usually those people with 1-2 years working experiences. But ultimately it is not the qualification that you have that matters but your ability to contribute to the organisation.Originally posted by Xenthar:Hey gaoyue. I also poly grad. This is very important criteria now, especially for Medium & Small Enterprise. As far as I know, only MNC or GLC are willingly to accept fresh with no experience but got potential. These big guys got the resouces.
The problem with many graduates (poly or degree holders) is that they dun know what they want and what they can contribute. They simply apply for any jobs available. I do understand the market is bad, but employers want people who can help their organisation to grow. So when going for interviews, remember to go with a clear knowledge of what you can give and your skills, because this is your only time to impress.Very true.
How much you are paid usually depends on your worth. Usually they will pay you slightly lesser than market value when you first start working. Until you prove your abilities then they will then increase your salary after probation.I think my company pays me the right price.
tks, that's nothing, i am new to the job next year after i get 1 level up to level 2 it will be more. btw it oni have 3 level to go. why not check it out here www.irata.org job scope to wide, can be anything.Originally posted by BaByBoY:tt`s respectable....
wat u do for a living??

No no no, I think abt it and it come to me that the garment is indirectly asking the degree to get $1450 and the poly grad can than become cleaner sup getting $1300.Originally posted by spectnr1:Juz heard from sum1 tat gov. is introducing new law for employer to giv at least $1450 to poly grad. issit true?

actually it's not true that jobs are always given to degree holders than diploma holders, it all depends on the nature of the work...
a degree holder can definitely do a job better than a poly grad, but in times where the economy is good, she sure pack-bag-and-go to find a better and high-salary job. if the company have the mindset that hiring degree holders are better than hiring diploma holders, than they can expect a high staff turnover rate...
for example: if u hire someone with MBA as an marketing exec at a SME, when times are good, and other MNC need these degree holders, do you tink they will stay or quit for the MNC job? it's human nature to climb higher and higher, "ren wang gao chu pa"...
in this case, the SME would have to take time and resources to find another person to replace this MBA holder, is it a loss or a gain?
