Does Singapore have an identity of its own?

The Singapore Tourism Board's Slogan for the Singapore tourism campaign is "uniquely Singapore". But if we were to be more precise, what is that unique about Singapore that we don't find in other countries? What is in the Singaporean identity that makes it so special and sets it apart from other countries? Is our identity just a mosaic of the different cultures borrowed from other countries? is the tourism campaign that we see on television an accurate portrayal of the Singaporean identity?
But most importantly, what is it that constitutes a country's identity? -

Then singaporean v known for their Singlish de ma....Think tis is the most unique of singapore lor... Sometimes we speak till v used to it liao... My class got a few china students lor... Sometimes we took for granted Singlish as english... sometimes they dun understand... esp those lah, lor...

To me, I hear from many foreigners from the west; that coming into SIngapore, is akin to stepping into a Clean Room of a wafer fab plant.
There is no nonsense here, the Law rules with a firm hand, and business dealings are made with little or no nervous sweat.
But on the other hand, some Ugly SIngaporeans can tarnish what characteristics or distinguishing flavours Singapore carries in the eyes & minds of the world.
As a country to do business in, we shine like a beacon in an ocean of murky corruption. But as a people, I say we are still a long ways to go. Until such time when we can do without Courtesy Campagns, Kindness Movements, and such. Meantime, society here still needs to be guided on how to behave as a human being. -

For my more rascist white friends, they see Singapore as an easy place to get laid.
Culturally its just a blend. Not very unique, you've got whites, eurasia, chinks, indians and malays.
