Unlike in Singapore, politicians there harnessed different forces in society to get elected, and in the process pulled their countries apart. 'I call it the politics of divergence. That means the political elite diverge in the way they think the country should be run... It's very difficult for the country to move forward,' he said.
'So, I come back even more determined that we should keep our system of political self renewal. Not just me following the precedent set by Comrade Lee Kuan Yew. But hopefully, my example will also be taken by future prime ministers,' he said."

Is Mr Goh saying Singaporeans won't be deciding who becomes the PM and Government anymore. He mentioned 'self-renewal' like PAP leadership is a forever thing.
Does this mean a drastic change in Singapore political system is in the cards?[/b]
here's a shorten version
"i'm pleased to announce that LHL is taking over as pm once i'm retiring so our country is going to be stable since there's no fighting over the post of PM and thats' good for the economy and that means our policies are all correct"
