Singaporeans are happier? - sure or not !

Streats today reported a survey showed 'SINGAPOREANS GETTING HAPPIER'" ....
....but wait a minute....
A current poll conducted by AsiaOne so far indicated a different story -

Yes, it sure looks that way.

Forget HAPPY, and focus on being able to generally GET BY first. -
I'm relatively unhappy with the quality of reporting by journalists in Singapore newspapers. I don't know the source of the problem, yeah really, never studied it. Maybe it's just the readers?
I do hope journalists such as Serena Ng, who has been awarded a journalism scholarship to study in the US, would eventually help raise the level of quality reporting.
There's no excuse to assume that quality reporting is not an essential ingredient in afternoon papers. -
To be happy or sad is something subjective.
How do we measure happiness?
Is joblessness a happiness?
Some people I believe can be happy without a job.
Some people will just be sad even with a lot of money. -
happy about what?
general happiness, people are only as happy as they decide to be...
happy with the direction of the country? well, maybe about right..
happy with the economy? some are...
so... happy with what? -
I don't really believe in the surveys by the newspaper. They are usually slanted. How to be happy here? I have no idea with all the class discrimination around.

etc
This is how to make it seem men are more depressed than women
SURVEY QUESTIONS:
Do you suffer from erectile dysfunction?
Have you suceeded in commiting suicide?
etc
...
you get the idea.
by wording the questions in a certain way, we can make it seem like people are actually happy, when they are not. the nazis did something similar with the jews...

there is also the possibility that it was a "survey" with invented results.

dont believe in all these lies from newspaper. probably just to confuse singaporean that if u r being unhappy, you are odd one as majority singaporean are happy.

Read the article carefully my friends. just because the stats reduced itself from 70 over % of unhappy people to 60 over and they pronounced that singaporeans are happier. it doesn't change the fact that more than the majority are still unhappy with the country.
personally, i think the minute change could be due to the changes in economy. from very unhappy to less unhappy.
but i guess its all the hype to convince pple that singapore is still better than everywhere else. something that they have to keep saying n saying because that's there job.
i think its kinda similar to all the news articles thumping that LHL's such a grand choice for PM when no one asked the pple. i bet they don publish what those people who did not like him have to say. i know this is off the topic but that's the nature of our press.
