  What irks me is China's stand on Taiwanese issue. They threaten to use force all the time which I think is uncivilise and barbaric. If China is a democratic and developed Taiwan will be more than happy to reunite with China.

  I totally agree with the achievements that China has made, but I seriously hope that the selfsame achievements in the technological and sporting areas is also reflected in their handling of cross-straits affairs and treatment of their people.

  firstly, can you go back the place where we were mins ago?? this guy still swears.. before leaving.. can't you see it?? try to be fair, right?? doing sth in the right way.. i am "insulting", am I??
  
  by the way,, 5000 years ago?? chinese only has got 3000 years written history.. and singapore became "independent" in 1965.. 40 years ago.. just can not understand why the things can be traced back to 5000 years ago.

  You originated from China and you didn't know?? Yes Chinese only has got 3000 years WRITTEN history. But Chinese existed already for at least 5000 years. Although i am living in Singapore, but my forefathers are from China, that means my ancestors were all from China last time. Although I am a Singaporean, but i won't forget my roots. I have elder relatives living in Hainan island which is my forefather's hometown and my father is still writting letter back to stay in contact.

  if you talk about the existence of chinese.. maybe you can get back to 10s and thousands years back.. not only 5000 years ago.. the recoginized human being's history is only based on language record.. that is the only evidence when u talk about a people's history.
