YaoRockets, I believe I see you correcting this a few times already. But I am not so sure if you are correct on this. Using a direct translation from Mandarin, you are right.
But if you look at it from the English language, both are completely acceptable. In fact, it depends on which one is the noun. In the case of Singaporean, I think we prefer Singaporean to be the noun and Chinese to be the adjective rather than Chinese being the noun and Singapore being the adjective.
Basically, it depends on whether we want to be known as
Xin Jia Po Hua Ren
Or
Hua Zu Xin Jia Po Ren
Both are correct. Singaporean probably prefers to be known as the later for corret description of who we actually are.
Just wanted to clear this up since this was brought up many times.
