  forget about this island. even if you ask the islanders, who wana return to spore? i bet 100% remain as it is. to be frank, i know many islanders who are so happy on the island under aussie administration that none would want it to be return back to spore. basically the island never change for the past 40 years. only red craps population are dropping. most islanders have slowly shifted to perth for permanent stay less those still work on the island for work on minefield.
  
  many are islanders from malaysia and singapore previously who work on mine field. they earn heaps there now. if return to spore, sure blanga take all jobs, destroy all natural habitat. recently the island was developing a space station for the russian. moreober the island are also facing refugees problem from afgans. leave them alone.
  
  these island will be better without the singaporean.
  by the way, im 100% singaporean whose dad work on the island before and relative still on the island.

  According to my atlas here, Xmas Island is just south of the Java Island, and Cocos Islands are just to the west of Xmas.
