You are a bit slow arent you? Still dun get the point ?Originally posted by Atobe:At least Bonny Hicks had something worthy to write of herself.
Has LHL anything to write for himself, if not for his father's help ?

An autobiography is a book written by oneself about one's own life.
Anybody can write an autobiography. It can be the kopithiam uncle or the auntie next door. Its just a story about one's own life.

Ok whatever you win on this. You smart you clever. I slow I toopid.Originally posted by Atobe:Am I slow, or are you slower ?
You still do not get it too ?
An autobiography need NOT be written by oneself, and can be written by anyone who has an interest in one's life and EXPERIENCE.
Anyone or anybody can write about your life, if anyone or anybody find any EXPERIENCE from you worthy to write about.
Alex Josey had written at least two autobiographies of LKY in the 1970s and 1980s, while LKY was still in Public Office as the PM of SGP.
So did Dennis Bloodworth and Rev. James Minchin - one writing a complimentary piece, and the other writing a well researched piece that gave an insight into LKY's background.
The fact that none exist for the current PM is quite unusual, given the importance of his grooming of his career path over the last thirty years and more.
Do you see the point now, or do you need further help ?
It is not a simple matter of winning or losing; nor being smart or clever that is important.Originally posted by tspg:Ok whatever you win on this. You smart you clever. I slow I toopid.
I am always among ppl collecting feedback from them and helping them. Never lived in a well in my life.Originally posted by Atobe:It is not a simple matter of winning or losing; nor being smart or clever that is important.
Slowness and stupidity can be overcome.
Honesty and willingness to see and differentiate correctness and incorrectness is a strength to be further nurtured.
Congralutions in your effort to see the bigger sky by climbing out from the deep well.
You seem to be infatuated with 'ivory towers' ?Originally posted by tspg:I am always among ppl collecting feedback from them and helping them. Never lived in a well in my life.
It must have been decades since you last step out of the ivory tower.
Going out to listen and help is always better than talking and no action.Originally posted by Atobe:You seem to be infatuated with 'ivory towers' ?
Surely you should know that the view from the 'ivory tower' is far better then looking up to the small view of the sky from inside a deep well ?
You may be amongst people collecting feedback, but are you listening to what is being said, or only listening to what you only desire to hear ?
If you have set ideas and attitudes about 'ivory towers', how can you ever understand what the living conditions are like at different levels of the ivory tower - starting from the basement up ?
You must know that to build a tower - either in ivory or steel - a strong and deep foundation is needed ?

At least it is drawing you into a debate, and helping to tear the mask of hypocrisy from those who claimed to be able to listen to others.Originally posted by tspg:Is your empty talk going to change anything ?
I am not as highly educated as you are and there are more capable people than me. The difference is I dare to stand up and make a difference.Originally posted by Atobe:Listening but only hearing what you want to hear, and action in what you want to hear, and only can act within your limited scope, is no better than talking and impotent to do anything more then your limited resources.

My contribution may be a mere drop in the ocean, but if more people were to come forward, we can make a difference.
I am no big fan of PAP or LKY but I can see the initiatives taken by the current govt to build a more progressive and open society. If Singaporeans want to see changes they have to take part and bring about the change.
If you dun want to take part, dun be be a hindrance.
If you dun open your eyes you will always live in the dark.

A view can take on different perspective from different angles, and much will depend on the experience from which one's views are based on.
