If Indonesia continue to poison Singapore with her rubbish smoke, Singapore must do something concrete like breaking relations with Indonesia.

Indonesia's forest fire is a small issue in our foreign policy.
As suggested by some forumnites, we can offer our technical assistance. Apparently this was offered before but there was perhaps no follow-up.
Indonesia will see Singapore differently if our quiet diplomacy is put into gear with whoever is their leaders. Successive leaders will see our consistency and respect us.
Understanding their needs and aspirations require some consistency on our part. We need to be firm at times but it will be hasty to act high-profile. There is no point having suspicions and strains all the times like in the past. Swiss's style of quiet diplomacy is the best. With military preparedness and capabilities, we can excell Swiss in getting along with our neighbours. Bashing Indonesia with public outcry is not a good idea. -
Do you think breaking relation with Indonesia will put the problem to a stop? Have you even considered the amount of revenues that Singapore has been earning from Indonesia in the past and years to come? Without the tourism industry (A large portion of it made up of Indonesians), where else do you think Singapore can generate so much income from? and it's not only happening in indonesia. whichever country has forest, when the dry season comes too long n it's very hot, the possibility of having a forest fire is very high
i must admit one of our main problem here is that the gvt. doesn't pay much attention of the farmers. so sad to say, but it's true. dunno when they'll realise that indonesia is an agricultural country, and they better pay attention of the farmers. cos from the we got the supply of food (rice, sugar, etc). -

Anyway SG is not as badly affected as Malaysia. Even they keep quiet also. Why shd we make so much noise ? We must be more tolerant and understand the difficulties faced by Indonesia.

Indonesia is also planning to bulid a Nuclear Power station on top of a Volcano.
If they cannot control their smoke problem, how can they control a Radiation Fallout if something happens to their nuclear station?
Note that it will be ON TOP of a volcano.

I have a solution to the haze problem that will surely please idwar... in 6 easy steps...
1. First, we buy back Christmas Island. Of course, in this day and age, which country sells its territory so easily like that? But since idwar says we can do it, WE CAN DO IT!!! (hooray for Singapore)
2. Once we buy back Christmas Island (it is worth everything to get that rock back), we will get the locals to round up all the small crabs...
3. Then, the RSAF will airdrop the crabs all over Kalimantan!!!
4. Crabs will wage a guerilla war against Indon authorities/farmers, biting and pinching them whenever possible (extra points if they attack Sabah/Sarawak)
5. After defeating the Indonesians in Borneo, crabs will march onto Jakarta... our proud SG crab forces will sweep the toothless TNI aside like dirt
6. Crabs conquer Indonesia, and then set up independent Crab Republic in SE Asia (friendly to Singapore of course)
Thus, idwar's wet dreams of world domination are complete!!!
