poor thing.. the AVA came, saw the thing and it disappeared
My french colleagues told me that carefour import frozen chicken from brazil and put on the shelf for sales at less than S$3 per chicken. Sea Frieght is not expensive. If the local network in processing the chickens and local transportation to port is not expensive, the final price is still affordable.Originally posted by paperduck:agree. but we will pay higher price for those far-far-away land.
see the price of egg..3X than the malaysia price.
Brazil? thinking of the transport fee, even if barzil give us free..the transport fee also a bomb.
Muslims eat lots mutton because they don't eat pork. Indians eat mutton because they don't eat cow. The angmoh eat steak like crazy but they still have lamp chop and lamp chop is still more popular than pork chop. Mutton is probably more popular than we think.Originally posted by stupidissmart:Mutton contains the highest fat and cholestrol compares with other meat sources. Mutton may not get blasted recently is probably because mutton is not as popular as the other sources of meat.
Aiyah, in army we eat only to survive. 1 phrase: better safe than sorryOriginally posted by tspg:After all the flu virus outbreak happened in Kelantan a Malaysian state thats furthest from us. The outbreak was in a village, not a commercial farm. If the flu virus is discovered in Johor, I would support the ban.
Its also shows SG govt mistrust of Malaysian authorities ability to contain the problem. The ban has also threaten the livelihood of small business such as hawkers in SG and measures to help them were inadequate.
By banning cooked meals with chicken meat at the customs, are the immigration over zealous in carrying out their duties? I thought cooked meat is safe to eat ? Are they sending out a wrong message to the people ?
urgh..... u've just reminded me of them...Originally posted by greengoblin:I won't want to touch mutton...everyday in camp eat mutton eat until my face turn green... now that I ORD already... I am still turned off by the memory of ``mutton cubes'' that SAF serves...
How come go out of point again???Originally posted by stupidissmart:They really should do something about it........ maybe build it out like the indoor MRT station where there r glass doors tat open only when the train has stopped.
Everytime when I stand by road sides waiting to cross the roads, cars are zooming past at high speed. At that moment, if I step out before the cars were stopped, I die; if I faint and fall, I die; if somebody pushes me from behind, I die; this is no difference from standing at an MRT platform when a train approaches!! BUT, the train will never crash onto me, but the cars on the road can lose control and crash onto the crowd standing by!! so standing by the road side is more dangerous than standing on a MRT platform. Why we never ask the government to protect those standing by the roadside?Originally posted by stupidissmart:They really should do something about it........ maybe build it out like the indoor MRT station where there r glass doors tat open only when the train has stopped.

One of my worst experience in army was during LANCER. My encik indented 3 weeks of combat rations for us {dunno for what} and then ban us from going to the cookhouse for meals...of course the pasta and boulgious {dunno how to spell} not bad lah... but eating that for 3 meals will make you sick man... remembered my platoon and I will sneak to the cookhouse to eat... their drumsticks really good....Originally posted by sgdiehard:Aiyah, in army we eat only to survive. Go to a good western restaurant you can find very good lamb chop. In normal northern chinese steam boat restaurant, or Jap Shabu-shabu, you can find very good "shuan yang rou"; you can also find tasty lamb kebab in many middle east restaurants. I have tried very very nice goat meat in China, goats that were fed on grass alone, no feedmills. Once in a while, especially when the weather is cool, our very own mutton soup, is also very nice.
So far nothing official about why these people were on the track when the train approached. Not sure if those were all suicide cases.Originally posted by stupidissmart:I see a sudden surge in people dying at the tracks recently. In the past people r also "kiasu' and try to board the train fast, but the number of death is few because they r not dumb. From the video tapes it is clear tat these people choose to commit suicide instead of foul play. These death or injuries do cause a lot of disruption to our public transport system isn't it ? So wat do u propose we do to stop tis problem ? If everyday someone decide to end their lives on the tracks, then we r gonna see more disruptions and our public transport system will fail to be reliable. Educating people to stop committing suicide on the tracks ? Educating them not to commit suicide has clearly fail, how do we educate them not to commit suicide on the tracks ? When they reach the point of committing suicide, they don't care about the consequences.
