Instead of making a "condescending" but HOLLOW statement that dismiss the well articulated points that have been raised, why have you not put in any effort to negate those well articulated points and prove them wrong.
How did the article distort any facts and spread misinformation, when it is a report of what the Ruling Party has done and said in Parliament ?
Did the Ruling Party and the Government controlled Newspaper of Singapore deluded Singaporeans ?
Will you declare honestly if you belong to NSP, but discrediting NSP by your efforts in defending and protecting the policies and methods of the Ruling Party that forms the Government ? -

Why should anyone who bring up the bad stuff concerning the Government leave Singapore ?
The fact is that we are not "chicken" - whether the paper or the real kind - and prepared to stay and put our thoughts into print in this or any other forum, already shows our patriotism to Singapore.
Your poor attitude towards opposing views is unfortunate, and shows the poor influence that you are receiving from those whom you admire, when they are the expert in being intolerant, impatient and scared of any voice of dissent that becomes to factual, logical, and persuasive.
When that happens, there will be the typical counter-attack of the personal kind to discredit, ridicule, and the 'coup de grace' - bankruptcy via the legal circus. -

Medicare (their welfare) - have to pay also lah- no such thing as free lunch ...about 600 bucks or so if ur single in taxes. Medication very extremely expensive even under their PBS scheme . But one thing good...u make urself sick enough to enter their hospital ....u get free treatment unless it includes an operation which u pay no more than 3k dollars. U don't buy private health insurance ....u get extra tax on top of medical levy. GP not free unless u bulk bill. The only time u get it free is if ur elderly or severely disadvantaged. let say, im a full adult, but i jobless still depand on parent. how i going to pay the 600 buck tax for the medication.
another question. the 5% GST already make singaporean KPKB liao..how you take it when australia GST 10%? from the information i get, living australia is harder than singapore. but i dont believe there nothing good about australia than singapore. (about the govt policy) can u spot make some good policy that singapore dont have.
is that truth that asia-chinese turning more and more unwelcome to australia? why? because of the racism is deep-rooted in this country? -

Australia got 10% GST but if u buy books or materials related to work - u CLAIM from tax!
If your study related to ur profession i.e. ur accountant ...u do masters of accountancy - U CLAIM from tax!
If u have professional member fees ( like accountancy , medical reg board) - u claim tax! Again!
If you work for the public sector - hell u can claim again! or salary package which means cheaper taxes!
u can claim alot ....from taxes....more than what u can claim from singapore - from health insurance to home insurance
Hell u can even claim home office and phone bills and internet bills and software
Asian chinese - actually ang moh theredon't really care about us ...it's the middle east fellas they don't like more. They tell me to go back to china ,I tell them to go back to england ( must see where first or else get hantum) Racism u have but more and more chinese sitting on top ...just only quiet. Actually I would say it is the chinese fleecing the chinese than the ang moh fleecing chinese .....Ang mohs here in general are pretty ok ...they just keep forgetting I am not FROM CHINA!
but they mean no harm - I got a few ang moh friends/colleagues which are kind of nice.
Work wise - u have to work doubly hard to get promoted. It is a unspoken rule ....ang moh say no lah equal share...bs.... if u can claim credit , claim like Crazy like u would claim taxes!
Policies : they have good social policies which are abused alot. Social support for old people, meals on wheels, close to nothing hospitalisation (which equates to old people dumping in hospitals ) , income tax repayment for education (if ur income hit a certain amount - u pay back the university fees at a certain amount). Of course their inflation is high so their salary is also high ......but easier to buy house here tho.
if you ask me if being a first class citizen back in singapore is better....I still say so what. Second class here with a house and ample opportunities is much better. After all back home , u still have to compete with scholars (which u have no chance unless ur one ) or foreign talent for jobs and opportunities. Australia - once u prove ur worth and become an essential part of their company...they don't care what color, they will still promote u ....only initial part of proving urself can be abit of a hassle ...but at least they don't condemn u at the first go -

Don't need to be bothered by those who tell you to migrate.
If everyone tries to take the easier way out of problems, everyone will forever be LOSERS who will only think of running away once he/she meets obstacles.
If you need to work overseas, then go. But you must remember that you must come back to Singapore to exercise your voting right if the GE is called and your GRC is being contested. This is the most pro-active thing you could do as a citizen. There is no need to give up your citizenship and lose your roots here just because those people up there are screwing up the whole place with bad policies and management. You should instead, value your power and rights to change the status quo.
I used to be like you, an arm chair critic. Even up till now, I don't see anything wrong to be an arm chair critic because different people has different priorities and risk adversity. However, it strikes me one day when a PAP veteran criticize me of supporting an opposition that has no working faculties at all. IN my heart, I would prefer to have a balanced political system and thus my support for the opposition. But in my head, I know what he said is true and unbias; opposition back then, doesn't have the infrastructure, system and people to make it a viable instituition at all. From then on, I keep pondering about this for quite a while and decided that it is time for me to join an opposition party and make it working. I have since, never looked back after I have met up with Mr. Low TK and joined Workers Party.
However, I understand that not everybody could possibly make the same choice as I did. People have different commitments and considerations and we will have to respect that. But I believe, you are contributing to a better Singapore, however small it may be, by writting here, criticising and commenting about the ills of this society. No doubt about it. You could do even more if you join a political party, be it PAP, Workers Party or otherwise; but I think one has to live within his means.
The fact that you are writting, shows that you still care for this country. If everybody stop writting about this country, then that will be the great sad day for Singapore.
Keep it up. Don't need to be bothered by what other people think. Just believe in what you do.

they should really open up all the grcs regardless of whose stronghold it is....instead of constantly changing the bloody boundaries.... -
