I think it is unreasonable to build the barrier.
When the price of transportation gone up, then everyone not happy.
Ppl just need to take care of their own safety, but too bad we r too kiasu.
Always want to stick our face on the door of the MRT so stand damn close siah.

Heng, they decide not to build da gates ah. Otherwise, such expenses will be transferred upon the users of the SMRT system (again, dat's common high-handed means by these large corporations).
Now, we shall sit back, relax, and see what clever tricks the "think-they-so-smart" management come up with...
Suppose they find dat the existing manpower is insufficient to deal with the platform crisis, they may employ more wardens - dat means job-creation: dat's better than erecting barriers and thereafter sacking half their staff because they are no longer needed... -

we complain about gov't not giving us freedom and treating us like kids? hello!!! if u wanna be treated like an adult, then u must know how to take care of yourself!
it isn't even a safety issue... if pple wanna kill find ways to themselves, they friggin' will...
its not as if its THAT dangerous on an MRT platform... if pple will just stand behind the yellow line and mind the gap, what could happen? -

thing is this... you are taking money away from things that could actually help people... things like better health care for the elderly, facilities for the handicapped...

anyone wonder why the first place our PAP govt wana privatise these public sector?? make it more competitive? anyone feel the challenge of SMRT? and cost down price war? bus fare war? the only reason is govt dont wana these problem of transport fare increase to become govt problems. the minister just need to 'i have spoken to respective company and request for not increasing the price but as their cost increase these company do need to increase price to be profitable' he can wash his hands.
i have more cost saving plan for SMRT to help them make more millions:
1. no need security guards at station. coz it wont help prevent terrorist and it belong the duty of commuters to own safety and police affair.
2.underground station no need safety doors also as they can safe maintenace cost, installation cost and most country in the world subway dont have doors also. whose stupid idea isit in the first place to have safety in the subway station? otherwise the cost of the fare is even cheaper. by the way isnt it the commuters responsibility to not fallen onto the tracks in the underground subway?? -
