Gangsterism

I'm sad to say that the number of gangsters in Singapore is increasing. Most of these gangsters are from the neighbourhood secondary schools. Some gangs even recruit students from the primary schools. These gangsters often creating troubles and being bullies inside and outside schools. Sometimes, they even have gang fights in public places. These problems are becoming a real social problems. However, the police hardly took any action against them. The police only catches these members when they are caught smoking(underage) or involved in fights. If this problem continues on, I believed that Singapore would become gangland like Hong Kong. So, when will the authorities take any action?

street gangs were rather common when i was very much younger...
now a days i seldom see ppl in gangs at such a large scale anymore
perhaps the gangs u mean are those made up by not more than 20 ppl

no. as far as i know, they are real gang. they got their own name, logo, cheers and many things i dunno. they also claims places to be theirs, like districts and shopping centres. they often mix with their own school gang members so u seldom see them in big group. btw, i'm not in gang and i know this details by hearing and seeing.Originally posted by BaByBoY:Seriously,

don't see a lot of em on the streets
but then again when u do it would have already escalated into a large
problem.
just becareful, Singapore still quite safe. -

the reason why government dosen't arrest all of them is that they don't want foreign gangs eg. mafia, yakuza etc to come in because foreign gangs are hard and almost impossible to control. they'd rather have a bunch of smoking bengs who have no guts to confront the police than to have mafia gangs that own guns.

aiya last week i saw a groupe of bengs not more than 10 people trying yo pick up a fight with 2 schools kids. one of the bengs has this stupid looking hairstyle with long spikey hair he look very cartoon. see this stupid gang saying that they are from AST. i was laughting my head out even i can fight about 10 of them at one time
