In Singapore, and likely anywhere else in this world, once you have been convcted you'd be indeed hard put, to re-integrate yourself with society. I am in full support of this Yellow Ribbon project, which helps ex-cons in a 2nd chance in life. In order for this project to work, the following scenarios have to be somehow eradicated:
>> Local employers who accepts job interviews from ex-cons, and upon seeing the person ( who is likely to have tattoos ) rejects his/her application.
>> Ex-cons who after gaining employment, defaults to his/her old ways, or simply doesn't turn up for work after a few days.
Society in Singapore, has some long ways to go, in terms of being more forgiving and graceous. And it would indeed be a big step forward, if this project yields positive outcome for all those who have taken the wrong path in life.
