Singapore Adopting a system of monarchy>?

What If Singapore were to scrap away parliament house and build a palace over the remains of City Hall?? Would it make life better for us? I mean under the rule of a benovelent King(LKY), we would enjoy greater prosperity , there will be no need for elections(saves time and money), the king will look after us all. Is this a good idea?
