Dear Laurence82,
Yes, it is not easy to detect. But Barracuda gives himself away.First he claims he does not work for SPH, but in his profile, he says he is an editor. This is a kind of skimming and playing with words. He is not wrong in saying that if he is working for MediaCorp as news editor or editor of Today.
I was referring to "local mass media" or "news agent", I didn't specify SPH.
And it is true that only people in the mass media line, intelligence services, Public Relations etc would be able to access information providers' archives and such. They pay heavy subsription fees for them to utilize the search engines there. Don't you find it strange that he could pull out any ST articles so fast?PR companies or mass media people use a special search engine created by organizations like wiser or Factiva that could give them quick access to news articles and information.
Thus, when he tries to set up the trap for me, to ask me whether HK newspapers report on the Malaysian MAS' plane being sobatage, I already he knew he has hidden agenda. If he could search through news archives so fast, most probably he already knew the answer and hope that I would fall into the trap by being "egoistic".Only agent would want to do that.
Agents would always pretend to be "normal" people; "concerned citizen". As I have mentioned, they will wait quietly to bite hard but at the same time, trying to hide their intent and agenda. But in this instances, Barracuda has his boat overturn in a small longkang.Although he tried to diffuse the attack and do some damage control by bringing in differentiation of Mr. Chiam and Mr. Low, his cover has already been blown off.
Concerned citizens don't go around setting traps; Concerned citizens don't go around labelling people together to give generalized bad publicity to opposition parties. Concerned citizens don't play with words deliberately to mislead you.

What is your meaning?
EmptyCage
You are also quick to label those who oppose too. Pot calling kettle black.Originally posted by The Barracuda:Goh Meng Seng is quick to label people who disagree with his views as " PAP supporters ".
Still refusing to tell us wat type of editor you are?Originally posted by The Barracuda:I have forward an e-mail to Ms Sylvia Lim. I 'll let her handle the matter.
The SIA and MAS news are few days apart. News less than 3 days old are all accessable to the public. So links have been create to related articles. This is done by SPH.Originally posted by SilverPal:The new articles I used were taken from : http://straitstimes.asia1.com/
No "special access" is needed. They are available to the public. Anyone who is familiar with the navigation tools are able to pick out news article quickly.
Channelnewsasia and straits times only allow public access to their acrhieves for the past 7 days worth of news. You cannot do a search in their sites to look for any later news. You need subscription for that. Either that or you're very free, everyday copying the news into your own storage devices.
So which one are you Barracuda?

Who right and who wrong I'll let your chairman decide.Originally posted by goh meng seng:You mean you couldn't handle it here?
As my disclaimer below has clearly stated, this is my own freedom of speech and I don't speak for the party. What has it got to do with Sylvia?
And I think sgsentinel is just doing me a favour and a great disfavour to you as he has unwittingly lend me the needed confirmation I needed.
It is a simple question I posted to you, what type of editor are you? I supposed it must be something to do with current affairs as you have stated as your interest in your profile.
I did not come to the conclusion that you are in the mass media profession via reading your profile. Call it the killer instinct if you want to. But you are just shying away from this simple fact. There is nothing wrong to be working in the mass media profession; I have lots of friends who are in the mass media profession and that's how I know what types of stuffs and tools you have.
Those who work in the local mass meida industry do not necessary be Anti-opposition and Pro-PAP. Even if they do so, there is nothing wrong with it as in Singapore, you are entitled to your political inclination or free to choose which side you stand. I would respect that freedom of choice.
But please lah, you are just being evasive for whatever reasons.

Do I have to give you my name, address and IC number if you request ? I'm free to give whatever information I please.Originally posted by goh meng seng:Dear Barracuda,
You see, again you try to play with words and avoid answering the question directly!
If you are an editor of a magazine or publishing house, what's wrong with that?Your demonstration of such evasive nature will convince more people of your motive and agenda.

Do you want to post your home address and telephone number here if people request ?
I do not :
1 work for the SPH
2 work for the govt
3 belong to any political party
Happy with that information ?
By adding a disclaimer means you can say anything you want ?
So if Singapore's Foreign Minister add a disclaimer. " I am speaking in my personal capacity " then go about berating the Taiwanese Foreign Minister, does that mean the Singapore will be free from blame and the Prime Minister will not intervene ?

She's from your party, [b]I'm sure she will not side me on the issue.
