Can any brothers out there share with me?

1) How to survive NS?
2) Is there any suicide cases in your camp?
3) How to go for OCS? Tough?

1)Have a positive attitude and you will do just fine

2)So far heard none since now NS getting easier and easier and a lot of things changed since i went,ehehe Very Happy

3)Be onz,have good physical fitness and act like a leader,por your instructor also, ahaaha Very Happy

Actually NS are much more better than last time. Just a few days ago, I heard of an instructor being charge for knocking down a recruit for more than 20x. With such welfare that soldiers are getting now, they should feel fortunate that they are serving the army only until now. And also, try to treat the instructor as your friends as in such a way that you wounldn't hate them when they punish you.

instructors or not, they are also under the chain of command.

failing to follow a general orders from the superior is considered as an offence. insurbordination.

in the past, these instructors goes around tekan recruits to prove that they can bend the SAF law and if need be, above the rule and override the chain of command.

now these instructors will follow strictly to the command and orders as any good soldier are supposed to be in the first place irreguardless of rank and position. else come crisis, every tom dick and hairy will start taking matters into their own hands and results in lost of command and control.

Suicide case? I didn't heard any except for one case in SISPEC Bravo company under the reign of a madman OC. But that's many years back. The OC probably change liao.

There's another in SISPEC where the guard duty sergeant shot himself. But it's not due to NS but some personal problems.

I think I heard more training accident than suicide. armour tank overturn (long time ago), Bike accidents, falling branch accident in australia, 3tonner accidents and the recent navy accident Sad

....

It's not that SAF dun take care of it's pple or train dangerously...but it's because sometimes training so shiong pple tend to get tired and forgot safety liao. Sometimes they just be at the wrong place at the wrong time. Unexpected.

SAF super emphasis on training safety but still got accident (although considered very little compare with the 60's and 70's). it's all up to NSF or MSmen like us to made it a safe place loh.
