I am beginning to see his personal motive in advocating to raise retirement age to 72. Its not like him to worry too much about Singaporeans loosing their jobs, especially to outsiders.
No matter whether the retirement age is raised, once you are over forty, no employers will want to hire you. You can only become the wandering souls out in streets to be exploited by taxi companies.
Very true, only you and I see that happening but those chaps sitting high up there chose to ignore this fact. And the true fact is - once you reach your 50's nobody wants to keep you.
Unless Our Dear Leader intervenes legally, like he did for SIA, companies especially GLCs SIA and PSA, will surely ignore everything he said about allowing workers to work till old age like age 81 (sic).
It's all just hot air and of course knowing him well enough I suspect he is now cooking up an excuse to prevent CPF withdrawls at 55 or even 65 for that matter.
This should be the real reason for his pretended worry over Singaporeans not having enough retirement money. Our Dear Leader jolly well knows that HDB and the high cost of living are the main reasons we all retire cashless!
I mean, he was emotionally untouched by PSA and SIA retrenchments. No sadness or regrets for us. All he said was retrenchments were necessary to save PSA and SIA ! Cant believe this is the same guy I actually voted his party so many times over!
I don't believe in any politicians. Most of them are saying what they said to gain support only. What they do after they get elected is another thing.
