Policies are just simply rules to follow & people here will be pressed till they die.
Comparing with other nation? Please, look at our salary scale & the standard of living here before we start to compare.
For those who have job, money & went aboard, is unlikely they are expected to return unless with valid objectives. -

my friends and i bet on whether someone will complain about the $7 increase to watch epl. my friend say $7 is nothing, nobody would be so free to make mountain out of molehill and take effort to write.....it's like paying one more mcdonalds meal everyday lor.
i say to my friend...u sure wrong.....sure got people complain here.....told him he didnt know mentality of people here........even 10 cents increase people will sure complain here, and link up with govt and other things.....like govt sucking people dry lah, people no jobs lah now must pay extra to watch sport at home etc etc, mother need to see doctor, now mother cannot see doctor because people need to use money to pay for espn......

After so many years of living here & experiencing extreme transition of nation building, I assure you, you guys are going to have even tougher time ahead of you. Whether you like it or not, there is going to be lesser jobs, lower pay, higher cost of living but not the standard, more stressful etc. etc.
Your friend feels relax about everything because the suffering is not on him but his or her parent. We are the one who has to salvage every single cent for our household & children. Mind you, this is just the tip of the iceberg.
Winning $20 out of nothing seem so easy to you but having to earn hard for $20, may just be something leave a lot to ponder over.
Anyway, I had my good old time when I was a student but sad to say, it will just remain as good old days. Lucky son, enjoy while you can! -

ESPN demand higher fee for the broadcast, what can Starhub do?

The government simply favors foreign talent and give them fat pay and good jobs. No wonder there are not enough jobs to go around. So if i have the chance,Im gonna leave. Let get something straight down here. Nobody has ever asked for free services and this issue down here is not about begging for free service.
People who do not bear the pain of having to support their household expenses do not feel any difference of whether the hike is double or triple. The games are still in colour.
We all know that price hike is inevitable in a country like ours. Having said that, mathematically, how much is justified. Are we looking at competiveness or monopolisation? If we Singaporean are wrong even to complain which seem to be the only way we can let off some steam, even knowing that is not going to bring about any changes, I suggest closing down SgForums.com
Last but not least, please do your homework before putting up so called fact in a public media. Who are the share holders of Starhub?

We want to see a competitor in the local pay tv. Not starhub doing the monopoly. Rising the fee for Singapore only? Did they rise for those people in Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Hong Kong. The people there are watching EPL through ESPN and Star Sports, if Singapore increase, there also must increase. Starhub Cable TV, do not think that you won't be bouycotted
