I maybe mistaken but I get this impression that Singapore soldiers have this obsession with being skinny.

Its not a bad thing though, considering that it probably means you guys are living up to the" lean, mean, fighting machine" thingy.

But as a soldier, how do you intend on fighting your enemy if you can't intimidate him first?

Also, being physically big does have an advantage in cambat when you've got to carry loads such as extra ammos & so on.

And then theres the fact that during combat situation, soldiers can loose a large amount of body fats with a day or 2 of continuous fighting. So if a Singapore soldier, at his current physical weight, goes into such a combat situation, won't he come off the battle looking like a skeleton? Just a thought.
