The weapon in question is a HK MP5A4.Originally posted by dRaKe86:Alrite, I'm a gun nut but I always can't get the trigger groups of the MP5 variants memorized.. Issit an MP5A2? Can see tat it has single, burst & full-auto settings.. Well taken pic btw.. Though the fact tat they carry revolvers as sidearms is a little "turn-offish".. LoL!
Well, when people see a cop wearing gear comparable to a soldier, the 1st thing that goes to their mind is that a shoot out is about to occur. It inturns lead to panic. The police here are only projecting their presence & not going into battle so wearing a beret somehow changes the profile of their purpose.Originally posted by SpecOps87:J
Lastly, does anyone know why are they not wearing helmets and are wearing berets instead?
What time was it?Originally posted by SpecOps87:Just wondering,if their presence there will help Orchard Road become a safer place. Those street gangs are really quite menacing.Last year after a school function at Meridian Hotel, was going to the MRT station and saw this bunch of ah bengs being arrested outside Ngee Ann City there. And at night along Orchard Road, always see alot of cops patrolling the streets it certainly is reassuring.

Talking about the French, I once saw their Gendamarie patrol the streets and their rail stations in Paris with FAMAS assault rifles, and that was way before 911!Originally posted by John Ching:Well, when people see a cop wearing gear comparable to a soldier, the 1st thing that goes to their mind is that a shoot out is about to occur. Besides, it makes them look French.![]()
HK also got patrolman with mp-5 patrolling crimeprone area even b4 9-11. we also have our SOC guys patrolling prior to 9-11 except not so prominent like now.Originally posted by warspite:Talking about the French, I once saw their Gendamarie patrol the streets and their rail stations in Paris with FAMAS assault rifles, and that was way before 911!
So seeing SOC personnels with MP5s domehow don't seem to be out of the ordinary to me...at least not with terrorists roaming the world with ease...![]()
