kinda weird, it doesn't seem to blend into a jungle background at all. if its intended for limited warfare, they'd better have other designs.

Which uniform? The parking attendents in JB?
Malaysia's Armed Forces have a distictive black tiger stripped jungle uniform. Should be of good rip-stop type material. The old uniform had brush stroke pattern.
Their National Service "program" has blue urban type camo uniform.
More strange is their elite firemen - they use a red/orange camoflage uniform. One wonders if they are trying to blend with the fire. -

I prefer the old MAF uniform which resembles the Rhodesian camo. Since we're on the subject of camo uniforms, can anyone enlighten me as to how the process of applying the different colours to the fabric are done?

Their new uniform looks different from ours, but not quite different enough. They're already wearing the same type of helmet, and their Steyr AUG can look like the SAR-21 in the distance or low light.
Very easy for friendly fire incidents. I find that modern armies are looking more and more similar in dressing and armaments.
Even the PLA now look very like any western army. They, too, are wearing a helmet very similar to the US pattern helmets. -
I really have no idea why that camo scheme was chosen, but if the uniforms were Olive Green, then they might be mistaken as being members of the Security Forces, so a slightly different camo pattern was chosen, which if you look at it closely, looks similar to the LTTE camo uniform (same pattern different colour).Originally posted by Gordonator:the blue malaysian national service uniform looks....
