Heard it's quite effective, because the pixels confuse the eye and it helps to fuzz out proper outlines of the human body at a distance.Originally posted by baer:What about the new US 'digital' type camo, effective or not?
The blue Malaysian NS uniform was never designed with camouflage in mind. In fact, it's entire purpose is to maintain a disciplined look while not looking too "military". In fact the words the Malaysian officials used to describe it when it was launched were along the lines of "hip" and "trendy".Originally posted by Gordonator:the blue malaysian national service uniform looks....
cannot make it...

Just ignore him. It is a flame bait. If he pulls that stunt again we shall see.Originally posted by Meremere:I agree with tvdog-moderators, do you allow such statements as this?
Yes sardaukar-the USMC temperate MARPAT and the Canadian temperate CADPAT. I think if you go to the "digitized camo" thread, you can see for yourself the pics I've posted there .Originally posted by Sardaukar:so are there any equivalent digitzed camo patterns for jungle environments?
In some other Malaysian units - the knife or sword is replaced by a Malay kris.Originally posted by Dr Who:Do you know that both Singapore and Malaysian arty units share exactly the same colours on their coat-of-arms ( blue/red) ?
I would not be surprised if many other units share the same, especially when they had common beginings.
the ones we are wearing are actually french Victor Berets...British Berets are called Kangols(spelling somewhere there)...the onli unit in Britain wearing French Victor Berets are the 22nd SAS Regiment, Paras and some other elite units over there...----taken by Immediate Action by Andy McNab...Originally posted by bcoy:In some other Malaysian units - the knife or sword is replaced by a Malay kris.
In Singapore you have a lion in the crest - they have a tiger, etc.
Malaysia's armed forces still have a very British like influence, esp. the paratroopers. The paratroopers from the RDF wear their red berets with the regimental wings just like the Brits.
Singapore's outlook is rathered mixed - British foot drills(Malay commands) and British like berets (but with a national crest), American ERDL camo uniforms and rank style, and Israeli webbing.
Thanks - but what I meant on the berets, was that we pull them from left to right (slope), the French wear them the other way round, right?Originally posted by sidestep1984:the ones we are wearing are actually french Victor Berets...British Berets are called Kangols(spelling somewhere there)...the onli unit in Britain wearing French Victor Berets are the 22nd SAS Regiment, Paras and some other elite units over there...----taken by Immediate Action by Andy McNab...
btw...kangols are big and funny compared to Victor Berets....and i am not talking abt the Buckingham Palace Guard's headgear...
the one worn the other way around is the kangol...some kangols come with a fluffy top..the shape of a french victor is like ours...where it is slanted at is up to the country itself...Originally posted by bcoy:Thanks - but what I meant on the berets, was that we pull them from left to right (slope), the French wear them the other way round, right?
