For the life of me I can't remember what the distance between boosters is supposed to be, but you're essentially right. The actual explosive charge is detonated by a shock wave and not heat. The shock wave is provided by the PETN in the det cord as it detonates, but as it burns along, more force is directed outward than along the length of the cord. field engineers in combat engineer oso learn n deal wif it....
there r many others who deal wif explosives BUT r in in EOD...FYI!!!

I understand, but the last few posts already show that he's wrong and you're right. Adding anything to it and starting things up again isn't going to serve any purpose, IMHO - what needed to be proven has already been proven, and you came out on top.
