Hi all,
Am sure most are familiar with doing combat reloading with the M16/Car-15/M4 series of smallarms right? It is done by dropping the empty mag, shoving a loaded mag and then slapping the[b] ease-spring to chamber a round right?

Not sure for SAW but my experience with SAR21 is that the magazine is rather awkwardly designed in such a manner that one cannot unload it as easily as the M16. It takes lots of practice to do it at nearly the same speed since the magazine catch is located at the back and not on the side like M16. Other than that, the procedure is the same as M16. One big problem about the SAR21 though is that it is not Left Handed friendly and too much components to look out for. Also now that is has no bayonet clip, really worry when it comes to close quaters combat.Originally posted by SpecOps87:Hi all,

My question here is how to perform a combat reloading for the SAR21 and Ultimax 100?Thanks.
In no part of my basic training was any part of the M16 ever referred to as "ease spring".Originally posted by SpecOps87:Actually the logic behind not loading the entire mag fully with 30 rounds is that to reduce IA.When you load 30 rounds into a 30 round mag, chances are that that tension of the spring will not be strong enough to boost the rounds into the chamber to be fired. Thus, loading 28 is fine.
Besides, few people actually load a round into the chamber and then remove the mag for put one more round in.
i have never yet performed a tactical reload by wasting my time pulling the empty mag out. depressing the mag catch is enough. oh btw if u r talking about m16? wad handle r u talking abt? charging handle?Originally posted by Johnston:You depress mag catch.
You pull the empty mag out.
You pull one full mag from your webbing.
Align the mag with the mag well.
slam in with force.
pull the handle to let the darn thing go forward.
thats actually a charging handle of some sort to bring the HK bolt carrier group forward..Originally posted by dRaKe86:Hey guyz, I noe there's a really cool feature of HK guns in which the trademark "HK tap" is done.. It's sth like u hit the top of the gun after loading in a fresh mag yeah? and it gives a satisfying bolt sound.. Anyone care to explain wad is actually done in the entire process? I onlie see from the movies.. They epty mag, put one in, then tap the gun (usually MP5) on the top wif a clenched fist..
That is the "HK Slap".Originally posted by sidestep1984:thats actually a charging handle of some sort to bring the HK bolt carrier group forward..
u may find wat u want here...
its called tactical reloading or something....the term can be found in the game SWAT3...forgot wat its called..
Yes if you can get the magazine of the SAR21 to drop out by simply depressing the catch.Originally posted by duajia:i have never yet performed a tactical reload by wasting my time pulling the empty mag out. depressing the mag catch is enough. oh btw if u r talking about m16? wad handle r u talking abt? charging handle?

Yes, you're right. For your info, theres really no need to slap the charging handle/ cocking handle, to load the weapon. Just release it from its catch/ housing/ whatever you want to name it, & the charging bolt will slam home.Originally posted by palmerised:so am i right to say that that slap is just to bring the charging bolt forward..
However do not ride the darned thing forward, because you are scared that the bolt might break.Originally posted by John Ching:Yes, you're right. Actually its not true. There is nothing wrong with the spring of the m16/m4 mags. The fault lies in the speed of the bolt carrier.Originally posted by SpecOps87:Actually the logic behind not loading the entire mag fully with 30 rounds is that to reduce IA.When you load 30 rounds into a 30 round mag, chances are that that tension of the spring will not be strong enough to boost the rounds into the chamber to be fired. Thus, loading 28 is fine.
