Not many people knows that our A4SU skyhawk detachment in France will not be flying back once the lease of the base is up.
They will be scrape or donate to museum in France once RSAF gets the replacement of the new fighter. -

I guess it's about time for the A4SU to be retired. lol.
Anyway, which aircraft is gonna replace them? Which did RSAF choose? Mirage, Rafale or F15? -

RSAF have about 85 ( official ) A4. But the actual number only known to the SAF lah. 18 of which are now flying in France. Dunnoe if you guys noticed,Rafale and EuroFighter Typhoon seem to be quite aggressive in thier marketing.Advertise on buses etc.But F-15 side like rather quiet eh?Hmmmz...so wat do you guys reckon it to be.Personally hope it will be EuroFighter.

F-15 too well established liao in the wars... Which would you choose, new fighter unproven in battle 'cept skirmishes and simulators and giving problems which you may yet encounter? Or an older fighter which has gone through the labours of many wars and the problems which you may face will have been resolved already? -

Well, it depends on why you wish to buy the fighter for. For long-term or short term replacement of A4SU? I would very much think it is long term (no country buys planes for short term replacements lol). So if this plane you are getting is old, and possibly will give another 10 yrs of lifespan in your airforce, why would you get it?Originally posted by sbst275:I prefer older one... Btw,the reason I chose the EuroFighter is beacuse it has the ability to "super-cruise" as in cruise at supersonic speeds,unlike other aircrafts which can only sustain supersonic flight for short periods of time and has the ability to be armed with the StormShadow cruise missile,which can be used from extended ranges if our neighbours decides to become naughty one day..And also,if you were to pick the F15,I read from some webby and the F15 guzzles alot of fuel. -

USAF has approve to upgrade F-15E APG-70/APG-63V1 radars to APG-63V3(AESA) for F-15E and a small no of F-15C/D
Typhoon
Tranch 2 gonna sign contract for developement soon -

EF2000 can supercruise??? F-22 and future F-35 have these feature too... F-15 is off saving weapon and training cost
AGM-65 is enough to stop them from being naughty by whacking Johor and PTP

Reasons? Wth are we doing in France? Do you think this is just a detachment so simple meh? Those A4 pilots did flew the Rafale in France and also into electronics warfare. -

Then the F-16 detachment also got deal one... They shifted to France because of prob in Aust
