The tendancy for your index/pointing finger to 'stray' onto the trigger is hard to suppress. Blame it on this small oversight, as well as economy on materials, .
It may also be interesting to ask if all weapons basic design parameters pre-suposes that finger "on" the trigger; is more likely state than, finger 'off' the trigger.
i guess its all based on de personal habit.. i rarely have my fingers on de trigger even when i converted from m16s1 to sar21 half yr ago and my index finger is shorter...
de trigger guard of de sar 21 is slanted diagonal for some reason i guess~ my finger is always on de trigger guard but not horizontal as for those who hv longer fingers.. instead my finger slants downwards but i dun see how it will compromise reaction time when disengaging de safety~
perhaps de diagonally placed trigger guard a solution for shorter fingers when i had problems wif de m16 trigger guard last time?

Haha, maybe like the SAF, it's just an empty mag and the loaded one is in the SBO... in which case, they, like us unlucky guard duty personnel, walk around with the weapon in semi all the time...
