ask you all...when you hormat senjata...your left hand will be holding the thickest part of the rifle right? then the thickest part of the rifle is called what>>

Really? I thought in hormat senjata (for M-16, at least) your left hand is on the thickest part of the hand guard? As for the right hand, it's on the thinnest part of the butt?
Correct me if I'm wrong, fellows.

I never managed to master the hormat senjata drill for M-16..... Not surprisingly, I was subject to many tekan sessions by my BMT platoon sergeant.
Oh well, at least I wasn't alone.......
I could do the drill for SAR-21 hormat senjata.... but it just isn't as smart as the M-16 drill. -

SAR-21 drills will always be done wif sling on isit? The left hand will slap the HAND GUARD. The right hand will hold the STOCK.
The butt is the part of rifle in contact with the ground. Remember the phrase 'kiwi your butt' and 'butt stroke to the head'? -

I was in the NDP last year. We did the SAR 21 drills with sling. The SAR 21 drills are easier compared to the M-16 drills, but not as smart.
What I think.... the M-16 hormat senjata drill is the smartest of all drills, although it's also the toughest. I never mastered it in BMT, and when I got posted to my unit I was issued with a SAR 21. -

The more difficult drill is the 'ground arms' for miltary funeral (can't remember commands) when the weapon is faced down, hands on butt (which is at hip height) and heads bowed. Have practiced this but luckily never done it for real. -

m16 i think is gonna be relegated to a drill weapon soon
Anyway sar21 drills are ugly imho -
SAR-21 drill no rusuk, only have order arms position. so you at ease an at attention at the same position. your right hand must hold the weapon at its stock or the end with the bit poking out and pulling it back, like M16, only that you need to the strength to carry it. the 9Div/Infantry Merger parade is all SAR21. during the rehearsals many drop the weapon including myself!
