There is less than 10 RAID here in Singapore.
Majority of us will buy the Surefire overseas.
There is an adventure store here at Shaw Leisure Gallery that sells the Longbow torchlight but the staff are not friendly.

One turn off abt surefires is u cant buy the batteries at NTUC fairprice...those 'Cheapest Shop in Singapore' or 7-11

I've an Infantry MOS.
You can buy the CR123 Energizer at many provision shop but it is expensive.

At least this thread is making constructive progress, and nothing bad happened during this thread like flamming. so it sastify the properties of Safety and Livness in concurrency speak..therefore..this thread has provided a wide array of information, nice arguements, new terms learned ( for me that is). different point of views for torch lights from Surefire, UK, and all the various brands that others used.

speaking of that, what models are you guys using.. i'm using the prg-50 from casio. not bad. large with inbuilt compass, altimeter (correct to 5 meters), barometer and thermometer... lowdown? no stop watch.

I saw the GLADIUS at the SHOT Show. Pricey, dude. Surefire is already getting expensive and now Blackhawk introduces GLADIUS at US$200+.....nope, no thanks. I understand a light is not a light anymore but most folks stateside are always looking for performance without the hefty price. I remember paying US$50 for my Z2 when it first came out (Gen I). Still have it but it's pretty battered especially around the bezel.
Anyway, we were looking at a bunch of other lights at SHOT when our rep brought someone to our booth to show us some new lights. The first light I saw was one to compete directly with the 6P, but at 75 lumens with 90 to 120 minutes of continuous use......US$40. That was just for starters; he started pulling out some other weapon mounted lights and I just kept on drooling. I called some friends (former SOF guys) over to check them out and suffice to say everyone agreed that this guy's lights are a great buy.
Last weekend, we tested these on M4s and the small ones using Rogers or Harries during a tactical 3-gun match and although I realized that these weren't Surefire, they got the job done very well and inexpensively. I ordered 200 of these and plan to showcase them at this month's Global Security Expo in Singapore.
On a separate note, High Speed Low Drag is a term we usually use for Operators.
