btw i see most of the time our submariners are in harbour for majority of their time... wonder how they train to be more efficient?
training at shore and out at sea is diff, no matter how u train on shore only helps u abit... if u r a sailor, u still needs to train out at sea -

Actually information on the operational readiness and how well-equiped our RSN ships are, enemies need not tap from our SAF personnel. They can get from their own citizens. Do you know operational ships or rsn contract out ship husbandry contracts to outsider contractors and most or 95% workers at least are foreigners, if one or two are spies, they will get lotsa info liao.
regarding the challenger sub, dismantling of eqiupment will not be done by rsn personnel but by ST personnel and with the ST Marine workers, be it bangla, indians, chinese etc.. they go onboard to do servicing, engine or whatsoever, they will get valuable intel liao.
So, look how well-protected are saf in intel. -

Sir Sandy "Angles and dangles" Woodward was indeed a submarine trained sailor. But his time came during the 1982 Falkland Wars as the Commander of the RN surface taskforce. The three nuclear subs of that war were not under his command. -

Regarding the Viking questions, according to Janes, Viking project now only left with Sweden. Viking project originally involves Sweden, Denmark and Norway producing a common submarine design suitable for all 3 countries. Since then, Norway and Denmark had both pulled out leaving only Sweden to go ahead with the project alone. They have not announced the termination of te project yet.
Denmark has completely phased out their submarine force since the start of 2005. Their submarines are now all retired. Therefore they do not need any more submarines.
Norway decided against buying any new submarine and instead upgraded their current Ula class to serve their needs.
Singapore, Poland and Finland are holding observer status in the Viking project only.
