Heckler & Koch G-11

For those who don't know, the H&K G-11 is a next-generation battle rifle which utilizes caseless ammunition (which increases potention fire rate by eliminating the eject and clear phase). The reduced weight of each round results in larger capacity while maintaining the light weight. The caseless ammunition also results in the elimination of cartrige cases.

actual usage of this weapon is unlikely due to general NATO policy for unification of ammunition and even assault rifle magazines -

H&K G-11?Hmmz...quite a nice piece of weaponry.Fires over 2000 rounds in burst mode,and is able to do so with a controllable recoil.The weapon fires all the rounds in the burst before the rocil is felt by the firer,unlike conventioanlly where with each shot,the recoil is instantaneous.Fires at 600 over rounds per min in auto.
Thats all I know...Hmmz can it be fitted with a bayonet and also how many rounds can the magazine hold? -
G-11?? Wasn't the program cancelled a long time ago, when Germany was unified?

Wow lau ! Super old news already ! G-11 is history, althought is a new and good concept, as alway it sometime just does not get the support it needed. Even the US also will be adopting the HK G-36 as the base for their XM-8 rifles. -

The U.S military tested model was designated as G11-ACR.
The rifle got screwed. The ACR experiment actually was simply an experiment, to determine what features should go into the U.S. army's ACR, which would be manufactured presumably in the U.S., not Germany! The U.S. learned what they could, and kept on going. We have not yet seen the introduction of a caseless weapon to any military as a standard rifle. Otherwise you would've seen it being used in Iraq.

2000 G-11's were produced......and they are all in service with the German army.

nothing beats the M-16 hybrid in Beverly Hills cop 3.....comes with a microwave...a radio...all u need to survive in the modern battlefield

Firstly this is very old news.
Secondly, the caliber of the ammo is non standard.
Thirdly, handling the caseless ammo is no joke business. The ammo clip is sealed with alumininum foil. How the heck do you do a clip reload in the field?
Fourthly, with recent developments in Chechnya (spelling?) and Somalia, small caliber may not be a good thing.
Good thing, they solve the round cookoff problem. -

There was some movie, B-grade no doubt, that featured a horde of
mafia type men in black prowling around with pintle-mounted medium to heavy machineguns, those pintle mounts were supported by some kind
of webbing around the wearers' torsos. Imagine charging into a room
with such stuff!!! Further more, these machineguns were fully-fed from
their standard military issue ammo boxes mounted atop the pintles and
beside their weapons. So all the wearer had to do was walk/run with
both hands holding onto the .50cal Browning type grips and squeezing
off the butterfly trigger with both thumbs !!!
