For all you shooting buffs, here's what's on the radar for the very near future....tactical 3-gun matches. Here's how it goes.....you show up with a pistol, a rifle and a shotgun and expect to shoot a minimum of 7 stages that will require either one of the firearms OR a combination of two (usually a pistol and a rifle or shotgun).
Unfortunately, these matches only take place in the US. The last time I was at the Singapore Shooting Center (?), there were a bunch of long time IPSC shooters who had just acquired some new Remington 11-87 shotguns. I kinda expected them to start something similar but I guess it ain't happening.
FYI, for all of you who are considering or have been thinking about taking up sport shooting, the quick answer is, yes, permits/licenses are issued for such firearms to be kept at the clubhouse. How, what and where? Best you ask around. It would appear (from my last visit), that there are monthly matches being conducted.
Anyway, here's a peek at two stages. The first vid is Stage 4, shotgun with 17 falling steel targets.

The next one is Stage 6, a pistol and rifle carbine combo. At the buzzer, fire 2 rounds into paper target, then steel, then another 2 rounds on another paper target, followed by yet another steel. Then you haul ass for 2 more distant steel targets, re-holster and head for the woods where your carbine is resting against a tree. Mount the carbine and find those 7 partially camouflaged targets with 2 shots on each. Sounds like fun

You bet.
