What happened to the model? Has it be supercded by the 40/50? THere don't seem to be any reference to it on the Mindef website.

It's fitted with a M242 25mm Bushmaster cannon.Optional applique armor.

Its a 2 man turret.

Oh, and it supposedly sits 11 uncomfortably.

So what happened? Always though a 25mm gun beats a puny .50 Cal Machine gun anytime.

There's little doubt in ppl's mind that this machine is the best in SEA now.
I just wonder how much resources is required to keep that way for the next 10 20 years?

The Adnan IFV...used by the Malaysian armed forces.....
The Bionix will be the best once different versions are up......1 thing that the bionix lack is variety....but nonetheless...its damned good looking in my point of view... -
The Adnan is an advanced version of the venerable M113 manufactured by the Turkish. My question is how the Singapore Ultras match up to this new IFV,thanks

It just occur to me that IDF does not really have IFV in their ORBAT?
Why is it so? Correct me if I'm wrong. -

Does anyone have good pics of SAF vehicles to post here?
Of particular interest will be the Bionix, the 8-wheel Armoured vehicle, the French-made amphibious tank and of course, M113 especially the one with the remote-control cannon. -

As for M113 Ultra , I believe Mindef website has a few good one. -
Merkeva itself is a giant terror..
If Singapore were to purchase it, nevertheless it will raise some shackles..
and hoo haa..
But when fired at the Adnan IFV..
Guarentees Devastating Effect..
Very solid feel.. -

Terrex fits the bill i think..it can be fitted with a big gun -
If we had such heavy vehicles in singapore, LTA will put a stop to it before anyone else can.

I've been to the Mindef site but the pics are very small except for those that are part of a special feature. Is there a particular Mindef site I should pay attention to? -
The Israelis still use the principle of APCs - to deliver infantry to the objective. The vehicles are for transport only. We will not get Merkavas.We might be getting the new FCS tank based on the M8 AGS system, with a smoothbore 120mm main gun, based on a United Defense chassis.It came out in Janes late last year if I'm not wrong.

It got off track rather quickly, I was curious as to why the 25mm Bushmaster version of the Bionix is no longer on the SAF TOE? What happened? Did it get replaced by the 40/50 version in view of operational effciency or what?
I would prefer to have a 25mm gun any time. -

Was surfing the MINDEF site, no mention of the 25 version in the list of equipment.
