travelling at the speed of a normal bullet...being pointed...can penetrate one la....the inside metal u noe...damn dense sia....to not penetrate...material must not be denser than human skin and surface area be big rather than pointed....Originally posted by SpecOps87:Hi guys,
Am curious about the rubber bullets that the IDF is using during riots as a less-then-lethal alternative. The weapons used are the common Car15,M4 or M16,but an adaptor has to be fitted. And these rubber bullets are infact normal metal bullets, which have been coated with a layer of rubber on the projectile. In theory,it would be able to travel at the same speed as a normal 5.56mm round, but they claim that it will not penetrate and the worst it will do is to knock the rioter down and out.
But there were reports of rioters and civilians being shot to death by IDF troopers who are armed with rubber bullets. So how safe are they actually? And does the SAF or SPF use them? And lastly, what is the difference between these rubber bullets and those rubber batons which can be shot from shotguns or the Arwen launcher.Thanks..
less than lethal....sleeping gas...gas the suspect to sleep....Originally posted by SpecOps87:Yep ChunYong, read about the beanbag type of ammunition used for the shotguns. Its effective to end situations w/o bloodshed if the firer hits the target and the target is positively in pain. The end result is actually a bruise at least or broken bone at worst.
But however, can anyone share how safe are the application of these less then lethal solutions to end a dangerous situation? As far as concerned, there was a report on how this guy in the US was walking around with a samurai sword in the us and has injured a few passer-bys.SWAT was called in and a barricade was formed around the guy,and police negotiators negotiating with that guy.Not wanting for the matter to drag,SWAT employed the use of CS gas and beanbag rounds but were still unsuccessful in forcing the suspect to surrender. He was finally arrested when SWAT officers hurled flashbangs at him and rushed to grab him.
Thus it really makes me wonder, does the use of such "less-then lethal" type of methods enable military or law enforcement forces to end a situation bloodlessly as opposed to using full-force resulting in severe injuries of even fatality?
valium is a drug.....lol....its a controlled substance...hahahahaOriginally posted by SpecOps87:Sleeping gas was used in the Moscow seige where ChenChen rebels barricaded themselves with explosives and all.The Russian military and police SF units, pumped this sleeping gas called Valium if I'm not mistaken into the theatre, this would decrease the rebels ability to fight when they storm the building, but guess what happened? The sleeping gas succeded in killing several of the hostages as well.So how can it be classed as "less-then lethal"?
Perhaps they could try laughing gas like the Joker did in Batman huhz?![]()
valium ah....its viagra's son-in-law....Originally posted by sidestep1984:valium is a drug.....lol....its a controlled substance...hahahaha
valium....lol.....
sleeping gas should be used discreetly...without knowledge of the suspect...
as for the Moscow siege....getting the right men and proper planning could have lessen the deaths......russian pride was involved i guess....they could have been more surgical by getting help from the SAS or delta force or GSG9 or GIGN....even as advisors..they would have been useful
If I'm not wrong. all of them died.Originally posted by SpecOps87:The sleeping gas succeded in killing several of the hostages as well.
