Depending on geographic location, Jehovah's Witnesses have been accused of misleading youth, engaging in satanic worship or supporting zionism, communism, fascism or pacifism. Because of their neutral political stand, Jehovah's Witnesses have often been accused of being disloyal to the state in both totalitarian and "free" nations. They have been sent to prisons, concentration camps, and even been executed. At times non-witness family members and acquaintences have presented stiff, even violent opposition to their faith. -
If you're JW, you won't have a NS to talk about. While others go to NS, you spend 3 years in prison.

On legality of Jehovah's Witnesses
In 1972 the Government deregistered and banned the Singapore Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses on the grounds that its existence was prejudicial to public welfare and order because its members refuse to perform military service (obligatory for all male citizens), salute the flag, or swear oaths of allegiance to the State.

On national service
More than 100 conscientious objectors to military service -- including around 30 currently serving sentences -- have been detained and court-martialled since 1973. Those who refuse to comply with military orders are sentenced to an initial 12 or 15 months' detention in military barracks. A second refusal to comply results in a further two years in detention.

They seem to forgot that instead of sitting around and talk cock about the end of the world, they could have gone out and done something more good, then sit around and wait !!! -

the reason could be tp prevent ppls from claiming they are jehovah's witnesses when reaching NS age..imagine every 16 year old fearing NS just have to join jehovah witnesses society and "tuang" NS ahahah!!
