The arrival of our friend from India into this forum prompted me to ask : What is the contribution of India to our military history?
I think the only significant contribution of Indians to our military history is the episode of Chandra Bose and his Indian National Army.(INA)
This guy recruited defeated Indian troops from the POW camps after the fall of Singapore to form the INA to fight as allies of the Japs. They fought in Burma and at the border of India. They lost badly.......
Chandra Bose was larer reportedly killed in an air crash whilst fleeing to Japan......The question is : Are those who join the INA Patriots or Traitors ???

Depend on whose perspectives...
for the brits and the local population, they are traitors who ally with the japanese..
for the indians, they are independence fighters...

So this is one example of how Indians always see things differently from us in many matters.....??

Defence by Indian troops in WW2 in Singapore. 12th Indian Brigade at Bt Panjang, 6/15th Indian Brigade at Bukit Timah, and 44th Indian Brigade at Jurong Rd after the Japanese had invaded Singapore. I think they are mostly made up of ethnic Indians from India.
But 44th together with Malay Regiment offered stiff defence at Pasir Panjang.
