ADF fires AKs too i think....for assesment of firearms or something like that...Originally posted by zenden9:Rifle like Ak-47 is widely use around the world.Shall we be taught how to use such rifle while we r in our NS live?
IMHO! A short course may help,a one week course and a few range will do!
If budget constraint, how abt restrict just to those task for UN mission, the likely hood of them posting to countries with wide usage of AK rifle is higher.
Actually all guns are almost the same in operation. If you know how to use a M16 then using a AK-47 is even easiler .Originally posted by zenden9:Rifle like Ak-47 is widely use around the world.Shall we be taught how to use such rifle while we r in our NS live?

Shall we FFF the weapon prior to usage?Originally posted by SingaporeMacross:Actually it's dangerous to pick up enemy weapons for your own usage. They could be sabotaged.
Murphy's Law Buddy... when you're short of everything but the enemy, you're in a combat zone.. and that includes AMMO...Originally posted by deathscythe99:In real war, as long as got ammo, can fire, can le...just pray bullets land on the enemy haha.
Think you read too much novels ! First it is expensive and difficult to sabotage a rifle just to kill a soldier. Also to do these type of sabo, you need to be well train and time, it can be as dangerous to the person setting up the trap.Originally posted by SingaporeMacross:Actually it's dangerous to pick up enemy weapons for your own usage. Mr Storywolf, perhaps you are not familiar that during the Vietnam War, there was a certain type of grenade produced that had no fuse at all.Originally posted by storywolf:Think you read too much novels ! When war time, there is so many casaulties, you think the enemy is so free to slowly sabo rifles !!! Everyone is fighting a war and busy shooting at each other instead. There may be rare cases of sabo only.
.
certain SAF units are already trained to use weapons all over the world.Originally posted by zenden9:Rifle like Ak-47 is widely use around the world.Shall we be taught how to use such rifle while we r in our NS live?

What do you think of the Kopassus?Originally posted by quivalen:a bunch of kopassus came over to train with our guys last year - they were very, very accurate with these rifles ( which they called the ss-'satu' ).
can't remember whether it was the normal or para version they had. the weapon is heavy, and has a very no-frills, kind of 'antique' feeling about.
