Indeed the industry is such BUT before they sell overseas they seek the "no brainer" way out right here.
It's just churning....plus leaking forex as much of the sub system derives from overseas. Most cases, the technology gained remains in-country and unproductive.
Increasingly there is the re-inventing of the wheel without the economy of scale.
There are some advantages when things are made locally but I think it's best left to some things only. Eg Armor plating, ammo, smart weapons and sensors.
Better they seek biz overseas (morals aside).....at least Singapore gain ......
