Did any of you guys manage to get on board the USS Abraham Lincoln for a tour when it was here just before CNY? If you did, how did you do it?
I wanted to board it but it left on the morning when I went to Changi naval base. Don't want to miss another carrier tour when they next come.

I am civilian. I boarded the Kitty Hawk back in around '92, '93 when it visited SG. There was no open house. I just went to Clifford Pier to ask some returning sailor to bring me on board and one did. Got to try mah. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
It so happened at the same time there was a tour on board for some SG-based American civilians, so they told me to join them. Was led around by the A-6 pilots. Visited the flight deck, touched the planes, main hangar, A-6 flight briefing room and some other rooms. Shiok! Out of this world shiok!
That's why want to relive the experience when the next carrier comes. Although now they dock at CNB so it'll be more problematic I imagine. Last time they anchor off the East Coast, at the man-of-war anchorage area.
With so many military enthusiasts here, I thought someone might have managed to board the Abraham Lincoln, so trying to see if they can share their experience.

We should approach the American Embassy as a group, to show interest in touring the carrier.Don't think they will just dismiss it all off so quickly...I hope..
