The Fast Craft Equipment Personnel (FCEP) being lowered from the boat davit of the Landing Ship Tank (LST). The RSS Endurance arrived in west Sumatra on 2 Jan.

13m Fast Craft Equipment and Personnel (FCEP)
The 4-tonne Fast Craft Equipment & Personnel (FCEP) is a high speed shallow draft landing craft capable of carrying passengers such as a platoon of troops in full battle gear or even a 4 tonne vehicle. It is designed to be able to beach or retract fully laden on typical sandy shores.
23m Fast Craft Utility (FCU)
The 18-tonne Fast Craft Utility is a high speed shallow draft vessel capable of carrying passengers or wheeled/tracked vehicle(s) of up to 18 tonnes. It is designed to be able to beach and retract fully laden on typical sandy shores. -
I really wonder...just how many of these FCEPs and FCUs do we really have? The IISS book Military Balance stated that the RSN has 30 FCUs and 6 FCEPs...I dun think this is enough to lift a brigade for an amphib landing...I believe we might have more in storage...anybody care to enlighten me on this?

ermmm... really? so what if we have 1000 of those but cannot bring along anywhere? it a landing carft and how many a LST can hang along will be it.

Actually we have only 3 FECP, Tom Dick and Hairy.
We just make them go round and round giving the impression we have more like how the Soviets did with their bombers during one May Day Parade... Haha -
In Aceh, would one LST beaching be more effective than using FCEPs and FCUs?
I think these utility crafts are limited in their payloads though sufficient for 1st wave beach assault.
How do you land the heavy equipment/supplies subsequently? -
it was a moonless night, tact signal given, all FCEPs goes into assault landing formation moving towards the shore...
see some flashes... it the coastal defend, the emeny MG firing. mortar rounds began to rain on our approach sea path causing more wave-form, more sea water being splash in. speed had pick up even more.
