but still very much work in progress, some more crash before in spain leaves very to be said abt how gd it is.
by the time typhoon reaches production stage then we get our queue number the last one in line, then they will come out with all sorts of rules and restrictions this cannot sell that cannot sell, very soon we will only be getting "hand me downs" equipment.
Best is rafale lah, frenchy is so desperate they have to send foreign minister here begging us to buy their aircraft to subsidise their industry, too bad kanna caught for bribery, french arms dealers should come to singapore to do national service then they will learn "SAF rule number 1" do anything you want but don't get caught sighz...
I dun think russian equipment dat bad lah, cheaper by the dozen some more, if it is so bad would anybody buy it? Maintainence wise we have the industry, if we can produce all sorts of high quality stuff for sale I'm sure copy-manufacture russian components and its good chance for us to learn how to produce it under license as it will eventually open new market for us in the long term & subsidise our own aviation industry.
All these russians like frenchy want is money they willing to give us almost anything we ask for, some more if there was not many users on the russian su would the israeli be actively developing products for it? -
I believe SG is trying to find a balance between using existing supply chains and weighing the merits of setting up a new logistical route that will be our plan B if the former decides to play naughty with us.

This smacks of james bond intrigue, the whole thing looks as though it has the finger prints of the CIA all over it.
maybe the rafale is really unbeatable and the yanks try to torpedo the deal and get their spooks to dress up as wine guzzling french arms dealers and try to bribe our ppl.

It's good to have a backup plan. We only have so many marbles.
To spread it so thinly may I think be counter productive. I think the French doesn't have much influence here in Asia (maybe more in NATO)......even then it took the Jeanne D'Arc 3 weeks to get here.
That's provided they all agree to help.
